Tallulah Gorge State Park, GA 4/3 to 4/7

We stayed in the state park with easy access to the rim trails. Tallulah Gorge is 2 miles long and nearly 1000 feet deep. There are several rim trail hikes to several overlooks. We hiked this 3 times and were lucky enough to be there on one of 4 weekends when they release more water thru the dam. This is done 2 weekends in April and 2 weekends in November.

Hike day 1 - before the water was released.

There are over 1000 steps throughout the trails.

The view from the suspension bridge on the first day ... before water release.

Same suspension bridge the next day ... after water release.

Kayakers getting ready.

The sweeper raft. There are 2 guys in this rubber raft. They are the last ones to go at the end of the day to make sure everyone gets thru to the end ... before they slow the water flow for the night. Tomorrow they will release more water again for more kayakers.

The waterflow from the dam on friday ... day 1.
