Amazing that these sand dunes are on the shore of Lake Michigan. We had a blast climbing thru the sand to the beautiful views of the lake.

A couple of houses and Bed & Breakfast hotels. Everything was beautifully painted and landscaped. It was like looking at paintings of victorian homes.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

15 miles of sandstone cliffs rising 50 to 200 feet above Lake Superior along Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Mineral seepage creates the cliffs colors which are best seen from the water. Which is exactly what we did. Red and orange are iron, green and blue are copper, black is manganese and white is calcium.

Lovers Arch ... if you tilt your head to the left you can see the heart.

Pirate ship row. Looks like a bunch of pirate ships parked in a row.

A spring fed waterfall on to a beach.  The people in the picture are hikers. You can hike along the cliffs. No vehicle access - only way in is to hike.

The formation in this photo and the one above used to be an arch. The pine tree grew at the top with it's roots growing along the arch. Many years ago the arch fell but the roots remained connected on the other side.

Bridal Veil falls. Notice the cave behind the falls!

Our first bald eagle sighting

2nd bald eagle sighting

Miners Castle from land. We hiked to the observation point.
