The Beehive and The Bowl hike
The Beehive hike is listed as difficult and having ladders, but it was one we really wanted to do. We are so glad we did it !
The start of the trail.
Doesn't look too difficult ...
A look down from the first part of the climb. Not too difficult ... yet!
First rest stop.
A view from mid point.
Starting to get a little crazy.
Ladders begin ...
Handles to hold on to !!
Another view ... still not the top.
WHAT ?!?
No guardrails !!
A view down at the climbers following us.
Almost to the top.
Just a few more ladders.
We made it and are smiling !!
On the way down the backside we hiked over to the Bowl. A lake at the top of the mountain.
A shot from the bottom of the hikers who were hiking up after us. Look close to see them !

Tidal Falls Preserve and Acadia National Park - Schoodic Point
We had to be here at low tide to see the starfish. This is the only time to see them.
13 mile loop around the point. This is the lesser known section of Acadia National Park. Just as beautiful ... much less populated. Beautiful views.
Portland, ME to Acadia National Park travel day
Just a few pictures from the drive from Portland to Acadia.
Crazy large lobster
Penobscot Narrows Bridge on highway 3.
Worlds tallest public overlook bridge.
Classic Maine lunch ... lobster roll and whoopie pie!

Portland, ME
Portland, Maine August 17th to August 19th. Walked around old town a bit on Thursday evening. Friday was rain ... rain ... rain 😒. We made the best of it and went to see a couple of lighthouses. Rain stopped long enough to grab a beer and a lobster roll.
Crossed the border from New Hampshire to Maine on a back country road !!
Portland Headlight
Spring Point Ledge Light
Bug Light (not BUD Light !)
